Wong Chia Chi (Tang Wei) is an acting student during the World War II Japanese occupation of Shanghai who joins up with a group of people determined to fight for their country. They devise an intricate plan for her to take on a false identity in order to befriend the wife of a top Japanese collaborator, Mr. Yee (Tony Leung), and eventually assassinate him.
This movie has it all: a great story, great cinematography and great acting. The main characters appear as real life people who are put in extraordinary situations which makes them both interesting and believable.
