Movie review, movie trailer and interview.
Theatrical Release Date: December 21, 2007
Starring: Tom Hanks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julia Roberts, Amy Adams. Directed by: Mike Nichols. A Universal release.
Drama. Rating: R. Running time: 97 minutes.
Based on a true story.
Charlie Wilson (Tom Hanks) is the former Democratic Texas congressman who helped the Afghan Mujahideen during the Soviet war in Afghanistan, along with CIA operative Gust Avrakotos and anti-communist socialite Joanne Herring (Julia Roberts).
This is a well acted movie with a clever script and an excellent cast. It’s so much fun to watch that it almost seems to go by too fast.
Grade: B+
